St. Stephen, NB.

Members of the Fundy Firefighters Association were proud to participate in the 2025 Senior Expo, hosted by the Charlotte County Seniors Resource Centre at the Garcelon Civic Centre. The event drew a strong turnout and offered a wide range of resources and demonstrations tailored to the needs of local seniors.

Representing the Association were Jason Richardson of the St. Stephen Fire Department and Anthony Fralick of the Western Charlotte Fire Department. Together, they provided valuable fire safety education to attendees, covering topics such as smoke detector maintenance and lifespan, how to create a personalized home exit plan, and proper use of fire extinguishers. They also introduced participants to the FireSmart program, which promotes wildfire preparedness and home safety.

A special thank you goes to Jeff Cross of the New Brunswick Office of the Fire Marshal for supplying the fire extinguisher training prop, which allowed attendees to gain hands-on experience in a safe and controlled environment.

The Senior Expo was a resounding success—well attended, well organized, and full of meaningful engagement. The Fundy Firefighters Association is grateful for the opportunity to connect with community members and support proactive safety education for seniors across Charlotte County.
